v0.2.0 · free · portable

Fretboard trainer that listens to your real guitar.

EliTrainer plays or names a note. Your task is to find the note and play it on your guitar, either through an audio interface or using your device’s microphone. Get instant feedback as you play, then see your score at the end. Practice and improve your guitar skills.

How it works

Start your training in three steps

  1. 01

    Plug in

Pick your input in Audio Settings. ASIO is supported, plus whatever other APIs your system offers.

  2. 02

    Set up your session

Choose a training mode and a note range, from the lowest note you want to drill to the highest.

  3. 03

    Play and get graded

Each round asks for one note. Play it and the app marks it correct or not, keeping your streak and a final accuracy score.

Two training modes

Fretboard memorization

The note name is shown. Find it on the neck and play it.

Ear training + fretboard

The note is only played. Recognise it by ear, then play it. You can replay the reference note.

Built for real playing

  • Your rig, as it is

Interface or mic, clean or driven, any tuning you can play. No calibration to sit through.

  • Any range

Drill just the notes you choose, from the lowest to the highest.

  • Onset, then pitch

It catches the moment you pick, skips the noisy attack, then reads the harmonics of what rings.

  • Live stats

Correct answers, streak, and accuracy, updated as you play.

  • Tuned to your playing

Soft picker or noisy room? The detection thresholds can be adjusted.
